Lusail Stadium in Doha will host the Argentina vs. Spain Finalissima in March 2026

Lusail Stadium in Doha will host the Argentina vs. Spain Finalissima in March 2026.

The much-awaited Finalissima between Argentina and Spain may happen on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in the Lusail Stadium in Doha, Qatar, the same location where Argentina defeated France on penalties to win the 2022 World Cup, according to reports from the Spanish publication Marca. Neither organization has yet to formally ratify the match, though.

Lionel Messi and the Albiceleste would be making a special return to the location of their biggest victory for the game. While Spain continues its qualifying campaign after overcoming Georgia this weekend, Argentina, the current world and Copa América winners, is already qualified for the 2026 World Cup.

A number of locations, including Miami, the United States; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; and Montevideo, Uruguay, were being considered for the Finalissima in recent months. However, rumors from Spain suggest that Lusail Stadium in Doha has become the front-runner to host the match between the American and European champions, just months before the United States, Mexico, and Canada 2026 World Cup.
